Caring for the Person with Dementia – Part 1

For family and volunteer caregivers: information on caring for a loved one with dementia in the home; discusses different types of dementia, explains how the disease impacts all aspects of a person’s daily life, provides suggestions on how to approach caring for a person with dementia.
The Schmieding Family Caregiver Dementia workshop offers 12 hours of information on:
- Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease
- Maintenance of Respect, Dignity, and Quality of Life
- Communication
- Behavioral Issues
- Productive Activities
- Nutrition and Fluid Balance
- Caregiver Stress and Burnout
- End-of-Life Care
The class is a multi-media presentation combined with some hands-on practical experiences. This class is part 1 in a series of 3.
TUITION: For a Limited Time, there will be no charge for attending Family Caregiver workshops. The normal tuition fee is $35 which allows two family members to attend, and includes 1 caregiver manual, community resource handouts, and a certificate of completion.
Reservations are required. Minimum enrollment of FOUR required for class to make — so, bring a friend!!!
