National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative

April 30, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

The HARKER HEIGHTS POLICE DEPARTMENT is  participating with the DEA in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

This program provides a venue for persons who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.  The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.  National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a vital public safety and public health issue.  Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.  Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet.

Anyone wanting to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs can come by the Harker Heights Police Department located at

402 Indian Trail and drop them off. NEEDLES NOT ACCEPTED

Other collection sites can be found by visiting www.dea.gov, clicking on the “Got Drugs?” icon and following the links to a database, where they enter their zip code.

Hope to see YOU at the Activities Center!
